I’ve been busy, and haven’t been able to post much. But today I took the whole Saturday to work around the farm with Larry. He had prepared the garden for planting, and today we finished (OK, we are a little late, we know) planting the onions and potatoes and one row of corn. Two more rows of corn to follow, then tomatoes and peppers, cucumbers and watermelon.
Last year we made good use of the garden, and this year will be no exception. We aren’t planting beans, because I put up 60 quarts in 2008 and we’ve only eaten five (I don’t like them). But the green tomato pickles will be more abundant, and I’m making salsa. At the garden’s edge, we planted parsley, cilantro (Mexican parsley, or coriander), dill weed and radishes.
