The Big Melt

For the last two days, the chilly sub-freezing nights have been punctuated by warm, thawing days. Right now it is 54 degrees, and outside everything is going “drip, drip, drip.”
We are glad that things are getting back to normal. The ponds have just about lost their icy shells, and the field is starting to look like a field again. A bonus of all this weather was, the moisture; the watering of the grounds is good for spring growth.
This morning I was wistfully wishing for summer, and the bounty of the garden. But in the meantime, it is time for a winter soup. See my next blog entry for the soup.
